 Description
EPA estimates that about 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year in the U.S. are radon-related. Exposure to radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Radon is an odorless, tasteless and invisible gas produced by the decay of naturally occurring uranium in soil and water.

Well is there anything that we can do to prevent such atrocities? I mean 20,000 people died last year from radon! That is absolutely ridiculous! Where are the risks of radon levels? | bill

I know you can get a Radon testing kit. I did one sometime in the last year. My state was doing some survey and had picked me to get a free one. Also, new home buyers are encouraged to do the test before they buy a house. Usually, it's done in a house's basement. It's just a envelope that you leave there for a few days. | Nick

I'm in an environmental technology program at my high school and I'm doing a huge project on Radon. You can buy (or probabaly rent) A radon test kit and just put it in your basement for a night or two. if you have a problem remediation is easy enough - depending on the concentration you might just have to open a window or you might need a ventilation system or an active radon remediation system. |
